He is world renowned for his expertise in infrastructure inspection and evaluation, asset management, structural monitoring and technology transfer efforts, and his passion for bridging the gap between state-of-the-art and state-of-the-practice.

Sreenivas recently retired from the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) as the Director of the Structures Management Bureau, where he managed one of the largest structural inspection and management programs in the United States, with an annual budget of about $100 million/year, to facilitate preservation, integrity, and safety of bridge and other structural infrastructure in New York State. These efforts included funding acquisition, scope development, software development, and testing, and implementation. This system is currently used, by 3000+ personnel, for all NYS structures including bridges, large culverts, and overhead sign structures. Data is made available to all stakeholders seamlessly on as-needed basis.
